Rydal Mount offers everything you could wish for the perfect romantic wedding. It is in an unparalleled location in the centre of the Lake District, with the atmosphere of Wordsworth’s last home adding a special meaning to your day. You can have your marriage or blessing ceremony at St. Mary’s Church at Rydal, which was known to Wordsworth and is a traditional Lakeland village church.

Following the ceremony, you and your guests can walk up through the picturesque Dora’s Field to your reception at Rydal Mount.

Your reception will then take place in a marquee on the croquet lawn. Imagine how wonderful it will be to have your photographs taken on a summer’s evening on the patio overlooking Rydal Water, while your guests sip champagne and look round the grounds.

All wedding guests will be given a special concessionary ticket for Rydal Mount, which they can use over the weekend of the wedding, or at any other time.

The other great thing about having your wedding at Rydal Mount is that it is very straightforward to organise.

You will have your own Wedding Co-ordinator who will ensure that everything is in place to make your wedding individual – from the decoration of the marquee to the choice of catering.

In addition to this, we can organise any additional services you may require, such as a florist, photographer and wedding cake. Again, all of these will be selected to suit your taste and budget.

• The house and gardens are now open to the public all year round. For this reason, wedding receptions take place from 5.00pm.
